Brooklyn Botanic Garden – Brooklyn, NY

In the spring of 2002 the Brooklyn Botanic Garden planted several Scarlett Oaks (Quercus coccinea) as part of their living tribute to the victims of September 11th. Concerned about potential rooting competition between the trees and the adjacent historic Cranford Rose Garden, DeepRoot WB 36/30 was installed along the length of the rose garden to block the Oak roots from entering.
