Main Street, Ridgefield Park, NJ – Surround Style

Main Street in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey in 1994 was a bleak streetscape. In April of that year dozens of street trees were planted. In just seven years the trees grew and completely transformed Main Street. DeepRoot UB 24-2 was used to enable both the growth of tree roots and prevent sidewalk damage. Today Ridgefield Park has an attractive, vibrant Main Street. There is no costly sidewalk or infrastructure damage to repair, and liability due to trip and fall hazards has been greatly reduced. Still, the greatest benefits come not from economics, but in the beauty and vitality the trees have brought to Main Street.
