Rhizomes from the adjacent bamboo forest were causing this multi-use path in Hiroshima, Japan to buckle and heave. Tired of the on-going problem and costly repairs the local authorities sought a more permanent solution. After removal of the damaged asphalt a trench was dug and the rhizomes pruned. DeepRoot WB 36 was then installed to block future surface rhizome growth.
