We just got some new pictures of the Silva Cell installation at the Olympic Green Retaining Wall in Stratford, UK, from installing contractor Carey Group. Other than the typically gray skies, the site looks great!
This is a picture of the site from the ground. Hedera Helix will grow out of the soil opening and up the 9m wall on the left to help beautify this stretch of sound barrier adjacent to the railroad tracks.
This is the site from above. You can tell in this photo just how bloody big a wall this is! (I don’t normally use the word “bloody” as an expletive, but since this is a UK project I figured it was appropriate).
We can’t wait to see the wall after the vines have been planted (not til 2012, sadly)!
How large was the gap (plant bed for the hedra helix) between the pavement and the wall in the Olympic Green Retaining Wall Installation?
The gap is 360mm from the retaining wall to the first cell
