Last week we had second installation in Knoxville, TN (the first was Andy Holt Avenue) at a new entrance to Neyland Stadium!
Pat, our Installation Coordinator, was on site observing the job. 12 total tree openings in a plaza outside the newly constructed stadium will be augmented with a single layer 48 of Silva Cells, providing an additional 480 cubic feet (13.9 cubic meters) of soil to the trees.
Tree pits are sited and the installers begin laying out the Cell frames:
Once they’re all laid out, a geogrid is wrapped around the entire system:
Pat wasn’t there long enough to see the dirt go in, but we look forward to finished photos with the planted trees before too long. The plaza paving will vary between regular pavers, porous pavers, and decorative concrete bands. The site was designed by Carol R. Johnson & Associates and the installation was done by Blaine Construction.
